Lansberry Trucking, in conjunction with Woodland Equipment and Supply and Armstrong Terminal Inc., formed an Employee Safety Committee several years ago. It follows guidelines set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. The committee meets monthly and discusses all aspects of safety throughout the organization. Such topics may include garage clutter, fall protection, respirator use, and worker’s compensation issues. In addition, employees are encouraged to observe on-site conditions and bring any area of concern to the committee’s attention. Situations are investigated and solutions are developed to reduce or eliminate the safety hazard. This committee works for the safety of all employees. The committee must complete an annual safety meeting to be renewed by the state.
